Team Management

Invite team members, assign roles, and manage your firm team

Manage your firm's team members by inviting new users, assigning roles, and adjusting permissions. Keep your team organized with the right access levels.

Inviting Team Members

  1. Go to Settings → Team
  2. Click Invite Member
  3. Enter their email address
  4. Select the role to assign (Staff, Manager, etc.)
  5. Click Send Invitation

The invited person will receive an email with a link to join your firm. They'll need to create a RIVET account if they don't already have one.

Permission Required

Only Owners and Managers can invite new team members. Managers cannot invite users at the Manager or Owner level.

Understanding Role Assignments

Changing Member Roles

  1. Go to Settings → Team
  2. Find the team member you want to update
  3. Click the Role dropdown next to their name
  4. Select the new role
  5. Confirm the change

Owner Changes

Only Owners can promote someone to Owner or demote another Owner. Every firm must have at least one Owner.

Removing Team Members

  1. Go to Settings → Team
  2. Find the team member to remove
  3. Click the Remove button (trash icon)
  4. Confirm the removal

What Happens When Removed

  • • User immediately loses access to the firm
  • • Data they created remains in the system
  • • Activity logs show their actions before removal
  • • They can be re-invited later if needed

Managing Pending Invitations

Invitations that haven't been accepted show as "Pending" in your team list. You can:

Resend Invitation

Send another email if the original was missed or expired.

Cancel Invitation

Revoke the invitation before it's accepted.

Invitation Expiry

Invitations expire after 7 days. If not accepted, you'll need to send a new one.
